2015: Steering Committee Formed
Diane Halas formed a steering committee with Karen Rosenstein, Diane McNulty, Christopher Bray (attorney) and Chet Hobert. The Founding Trustees are: Founding Trustees Horace “Bud” Bernton, Jeannette Boucher, Diane Halas, Diane McNulty and Karen Rosenstein.
2016 The Foundation was granted non-profit corporate status and held its first annual meeting in January. Friends of Bentley Village, a non-profit organization funded by the Thrift shop, provided the Foundation with $10,000 in seed money. The “Bentley Wings” Competitive Scholarship program launched with Collier Community Foundation providing administrative services. The program awarded 11 scholarships in December. Jeanette Boucher and Ira Dash chaired a committee that brought the first Music Therapy programs to ALR and the Care Center.
